If you know of anyone with a CREWSAVER lifejacket, even if you’re not sure of the model, please forward this email to them so that they can check.

CREWSAVER TECHNICAL SAFETY BULLETIN
In keeping with Survitec’s commitment to the highest levels of quality and safety, we are notifying the public of a safety alert for specific Crewsaver 290N manufactured during date June 2011 to October 2012.
These Lifejackets may be subject to loosening of the bladder webbing straps which may result in the stability of the jacket being affected.
In order to determine if you are impacted, Survitec Group is instructing the return of the Crewfit 290N Advanced Life jacket ONLY for inspection.
NO OTHER CREWSAVER PRODUCTS ARE AFFECTED.
The serial numbers of the potentially affected jackets are detailed below. These should be returned for inspection, and where appropriate, repair or replacement.
Owners of the lifejackets should:
- Not use them
- Return them to the nearest Survitec Service Centre or to Survitec Gosport, to have them inspected and tested.

The following lifejacket recalls have been anounced in the press over the last year. Any person posessing one of these lifejackets, should contact the manufacturer before returning. Do not use until it is checked. Many people are still not aware of these recalls and are wearing lifejackets thay may require checking.

CREWFIT 290N Webbing straps may not be fitted correctly on most models.
ALL LIFEJACKETS fitted with Halkey Roberts Auto device. Any of these that are more than 4 years old should have a new yellow bobbin fitted to the auto device.
ALL LIFEJACKETS United Moulders Auto device if over tightened may click, check for any sign of cracking.
There is no epidemic of faulty jackets out there. Lifejackets are designed for saving life and any little problem creates a recall. ALL LIFEJACKETS should be checked at least once a year and inflated to ensure there are no leaks. Before inflating, without the use of the gas, contact an RNLI Sea Safety Adviser who will show you how to conduct a check.
Please check your lifejackets, over the winter months and do not leave anything to chance.
